SILVANA FRANCIS

Lynn Valley Barbershop

Silvana has been an instructor at London School for 8 years. She has barbering in her blood having grown up cutting for 32 years in (and now owning) her father’s barber shop (EST. 1967). Silvana has a passion for the industry and the relationships built with both students and clients alike; being part of the transformation and the feeling it brings.

MIKE SHAMOON

Main Barbers Hair Design

Mike has been in the game for over 41 years, he’s loved it since he was a kid. His uncle was his first teacher back home in Armenia. He’ always be in and around the shop with family and friends. Mike feels it’s a part of his blood and you can find him most days till late into the evening in the window of his shop on Main street.

KURT HOFFMAN

Bangtown Hair Saloon

Kurt has been in the business for over 26 years. His passion is teaching and currently educates at London School. He is a barber himself and works down the street from London School at Bangtown Hair Saloon

‘BK’ KENYAN

Ice Kol Kut Barbershop

BK’s brother got him started in the game 15 years ago in Florida; fixing clippers and eventually cutting hair. Coming to Vancouver, he worked at Soul 2 Soul Barbershop honing his skills and supporting his acting and music career–but over time he realized barbering meant putting a smile on someone’s face and in their heart. BK didn’t choose barbering- “it chose me.”

FARZAD SALEHI

Farzad’s Barber Shop

Farzad began as an apprentce washing floors, folding towels and prepping soap over 31 years ago in Iran. Later in the army. he gave free hair cuts and in the 80’s did his friend’s cuts. “Hair was long back then, no one knew it it was bad!” The biggest reward for him? “They come back.” He strives to be your “neighbourhood barber” every time.

MARTIN RIVARD

Barber & Co.

Hailing from Montreal, Martin has been in the industry for over 20 years, starting in his family business at fifteen. Never thought he’d carry on the business but as he travelled he did hair everywhere he went. It just never felt like work and realized, you need to do what you love. Six years ago, his brain child, Barber & Co. was realized and opened here in Vancouver

JUNIOR ADUSEI

Junior’s Barbershop

Junior has been in the game for twenty-five years starting in Toronto. He began working in a barbershop in highschool looking to help support his family. He soon saw it as an opportunity to meet important people, build connections and be part of a culture. Junior focused on becoming a hair artist. After a time in New York he came out West, and has now opened his 2nd locations.

THE REFEREES

ROSA HARRIS

Rosa is an internationally certified instructor and advanced stylist who has spent her twenty-five years in the industry travelling as an educator and platform artist for various internationally recognized product manufacturers. Rosa leads the hairdressing team at London School with confidence and integrity.

GERARDO LEYSON

Gerardo has been cutting professionally for eleven years. He started in the ninth grade; never liking his haircuts, his mom bought him a pair of clippers and began cutting his own hair and eventually his friends. To this day, he continues to cut his own hair and many of those same friends’. He began working at Lynn Valley Barbershop while going to school and has been a partner four six years. He loves that his clients trust him with how they feel.

Jaime is a London School alumni, he currently works as a Barber at Sigma Barbershop. Some of his hobbies include djing, cooking biking, and fitness.
